Walking Tour
The walking tour covers about one mile with 14 stops. It usually takes between an hour and one half to two hours depending on the size of the group, the number of questions, and the amount of discussion. The cost of the tour is $5.00; all proceeds go to the Highspire Historical Society for maintenance of the Wilson House built by Highspire distiller Robert Wilson in the mid-1820s.
We also have a walking tour booklet for self-guided tours that sells for $7.00. It follows the guided tour very closely. The 36 pages contain 34 photos and cover about 70 items of historical interest. The Historical Society is selling the booklet for $7.00, but you can purchase the booklet and a tour ticket for the discount price of $10.00 on the day of the tour.
